Teens should participate in sports because it will keep them healthy and out of trouble. Not only does it keep them healthy and out of trouble but it shows them many aspects in life. Sports can also lead athletes to the use of drugs, alcohol and having a high stress level. Some of the benefits to participating in sports can have are, staying healthy and fit, academic success, and lifelong everyday skills. They will be at practice more than they will be out doing stuff they aren’t supposed to be doing. If they get in trouble they won’t be able to play. Being involved in a sports gives the players responsibility to do the right thing, don’t drink, do drugs, smoke, and keep their grades up. Sports can teach trust and leadership skills. They will meet the right kind of friends that will help them make good choices. Sports keep the student athletes in shape and make sure there getting the proper nutrition. Jocks seem to be the ones that are doing the bulling. Sports can teach people to judge others on their physical strength and appearance. Participating in sports can have students start bad habits, not eating the proper foods after an intense work out, stressing out over school because they haven’t had time to study or finish homework. At times sports can lead into taking drugs to improve their performance. Participating in sports can also be overwhelming for a student, when it comes down to studying and finishing homework.
