Right now people are angry and people are also angry that people are angry both are understandable and natural, albeit notheless uncomfortable. We must remember, that anger stems from many things, but in this case, I believe it stems from fear of the future, hurt from the results of the election, and general anxiety about what has happened. Donald Trump is President-Elect. Even though Donald Trump one the presidency, we as Americans, and each of us, can galvanize and decide what are core values are and how we want to be governed. We can start by making a statement, that while we may not agree on policy positions, we do agree that the vast majority of us are not racists, bigots, sexists, xenophobes, and misogynists and as such our policies, our words, and our actions must reflect this. Taking that first step as Americans can allay the fears of so many people and could possibly be the initial confidence builder needed to move on to solving other problems. We cannot solve problems without working together. What this election taught us is that elections matter, an informed electorate matters, apathy matters, cynicism matters, and getting involved matters. Citizen engagement is important to having an educated electorate, turning apathy into interest, turning cynicism into a belief that if lead properly government does work. This election should lead us all to inform ourselves on how the process works locally, regionally, state-wide, and
