Doug Stork: My Personal Hero
My Personal Hero What do you think of when someone says a hero? Superman? Batman? When I think of a hero I think of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Doug Stork is an ordinary man doing extraordinary things for his family and the community.
What makes Doug Stork so extraordinary? He is funny, intelligent, and inspiring but how does that make him a hero? He inspires me to be funny and intelligent. He tells his eight grandchildren stories, teaches them about cattle and how to fix things. He always know the answer to a question and will not hesitate at making a bad joke or two at times. My grandpa Doug Stork is my personal Michigan hero.
I remember little of my childhood. Although I have vivid memories of when I first grabbed a hold

Upon hearing that this topic was about heroes, my mind became flooded with ideas and concepts. Family members, historical figures and celebrities had all come to mind. However, this person was the first name that came to mind. This man, depending on your prospective, is either a hero or a villain. To many, he and his qualities are basically the definition of a hero. He has a no-quit attitude, a passion, and a fire in his heart. He has the heart and soul of a true warrior and champion. He has never run, he has fought through the down times, the lows, to achieve greatness, and reach those highs, those great moments. This man is a rare find in this world, nobody will ever be like him. He has a killer instinct, or “Mamba Mentality”, and that is…

If you ask someone the definition of a hero, they might tell you Captain America, or another comic book hero, but in all actuality a hero can be anyone. They can be big or small, the size of them doesn’t matter. What matters is the heroic act they do to make themselves a hero. People want to think that in a way they are a hero, but most of them aren’t. A hero is kind, charitable, can overcome challenges, and puts their feelings aside for the greater good.…

Well this man is another great example of a hero. He is considered a hero by me and many other different people because he dignifies what a true hero does. Chris was just an ordinary man that served for his country. He went on a mission with his crew and got into a big gun battle with their targets. When one of his men was shot Chris ran to his station and began to keep fighting for his and his teams lives. He took the opportunity that many would not take to safe many of his teammates. He inspired me to take chances and to not be afraid to do anything especially if it means saying many…

The amazing person I've chosen to be my hero is David Suzki. Heroes can come in all shapes and sizes but, what truly does make a hero? It's an easy, but difficult question to answer. To me a hero is someone who helps others. A hero doesn't need to be a god, superhero, president or belong to mythological tales to reach the criteria of a "hero". Anyone who helps someone else is a hero. It's beyond simple. Just by doing that one thing, that person is a hero. I've chosen this amazing human who's known as "David Suzuki" to be my hero. I do not doubt my decision one bit either, David is amazing. There's 3 large reasons why I've chosen him to be my hero!: He's been an amazing role model, has helped a myriad of animals and last of…

The last reason he is my hero is he will always be one of the people I can ask a question to or just to come and hang out with. For example, last year I was helping him change the oil on his lawn tractor and he started it up and let it run for a couple of minutes. I got extremely confused, so I simply asked him why he was doing this. He explained how it is easier to change the oil when it is warm. That is just one more reason he is my Michigan hero.…

Jesse Owens is my hero. Owens is my hero because he is the one who went to the Olympics and didn’t care about color of his skin to complete. Another reason why Jesse Owens is my hero, he inspired people of his race that they can do anything with their determination, effort, dedication, and self discipline. What make a hero? I was sitting in the back, by myself & I was going to go home, and take my own life, then I saw your program… I thought about my mom. How much she loves me. I thought about your story, and why God still has me here. I bawled my eyes out in the bathroom, and realized I’m here for a reason. YOU made me realize that, you saved my life.. You came on the perfect day, right when i’d had enough. Thank you.” (“Meet Our Founder”). Says a student at Hagerty High School in Oviedo, FL.
