Dr Mira Krishnan Overcoming Minority Analysis

First time I have ever heard Dr. Mira C. Krishnan speak, it was on the topic covering “Overcoming Minority”. It was so uplifting and inspirational. After her presentation, she had a standing ovation. What she presented was a life lesson that she could relates with the crowd to whom she is speaking too. It touched my heart. Dr. Krishnan obtained her BS and MS degrees in engineering at the University of Michigan and to go on with her PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Florida. Later she did her clinical internship in neuropsychology at the University of Chicago. Dr. Krishnan did become the Board Advisor to the Association of Children’s Residential Centers. She is the CO-Founder and CEO of preQuelist, developing mobile learning
games to empower preschool age children. She is the director of the Center of Autism, at Hope Network in Grand Rapids, MI. She loves to public speak, some of what she has presented at is Great Lakes Chapter SOPHE Conference (on Central Michigan University campus), National Organization for Women Grand Rapids Chapter, Young Nonprofit Professionals Network Grand Rapids and numerous lectures at regional, states, and national and even international conferences. Why am I nominating this speaker, because she has inspired me to look at life differently. She has overcome so many obstacles in her life to get to where she is. She is filled with joy and happiness of what she is doing. If she was my speaker for the 9am commencement this coming May, I would be thrilled. I would love to hear someone who can motivate hundreds of students about to start his or her next chapter of their lives. She is someone most students including myself can relate too. Even though our stories are all different somehow she can related them to every single student. Her messages and easy to understand and clearly. She would do an outstand send off for those students starting the next chapter of their lives.
