Tahil, Mohammad Frazer A.
BSIT Z4

My name is Tahil, Mohammad Frazer Ambutong born in Sitangkai Tawi-Tawi. My life was simple and happy, when I was four-years old we transfer here in Davao City because life in Tawi-Tawi was hard. I grow up honest and loving to my friends and family here. Life to me means friends and family who you can trust and who trusts you. I am pretty much on the happy side of life, but like all teens I do I have my "days of." That means I do have some sad days or depressed days. I have a few friends here that sort of look out for me and when I am having a bad day, I have someone here at school to talk to. I make my school days go by thinking of either the next hour or what I will do when I get home or on the weekend.

I'm not seeing anyone now but when I did have a girlfriend, our favorite places to go were the movies and out to dinner. Sometimes we went to the beach. We had fun everyday here in Davao and that's why me and my mom decided to stay here.

And then my real challenge starts in high school, first year. I had problems, I failed in my Chinese subject that was funny because I didn't know that the school my mom enrolled me was a Chinese school here in Davao. That was really close because if I will not pass this subject I will be kick out from the school. By the time when I was in high school I dream of becoming a teacher, because I want to share what I know to people who are much unfortunate. But when I graduated, my parents decided that I will take Information Technology and it was tough. And now my time in college has come and I know this will be much more “hard work”to do everyday.

Time conflicts and early morning schedule makes my self so tired. But I know this is just the beginning, and by the way I am studying now in Ateneo de Davao University. I have good new friends and teacher, they have different personalities but we have lots of time having time in malls.

But anyway I forgot to introduce my

Gen and his family are poor civilians living in Hiroshima who are under the constant burden of the town officials, the citizens of the town, and the hunger that plagues all of them. When Gen’s father is accused of being a traitor to the Japanese government life for them gets even tougher. When the bomb drops at the end of the story all that are left is Gen, his mother, and his newly born baby sister. Gen has to face the harsh realities of war at a very young age and has to become the man his father wanted him to be. Barefoot Gen is written as a first hand account about what civilian life was like for the people of japan during World War II. Also there are many themes in this book including power, and loyalty. Each one is shown by either the Japanese Government or by Gens own family. Also symbolism plays a big part in this story like the name Keiji picked for himself, the wheat that Gen and his family grow, and the sun that appears in the book many times.…

Hello, I am currently a junior in college. This has been my third at Houston community college. I initially started off by wanting to be a Dental Hygienist but later I started to realize it was not something I was passionate about. I soon came to the conclusion that I want to be an elementary school teacher. In the beginning I was thinking about money rather than a degree I would be dedicated to. I graduated high school back in 2011 and to be honest college was never in my panorama. After graduating I got my first job at Family dollar and that was my wake up call. I realized that I would not be able to live an abundant life getting paid minimum wage. I knew that if I wanted to make a difference in my life, I would have to go back to school.…

Prior to coming to school I was the epitome of a night owl. I hated waking up early and always went to bed late. I was super productive at night but was a zombie in the morning. Coming to college I have been forced to change my circadian rhythm. For field hockey we have practice at 7 a.m. everyday this new event has forced me to have to wake up early. In order to wake up, eat breakfast, get treatment and arrive at practice on time I usually have to wake up at 5:45 a.m. Because I have been waking up early, it has been harder to stay up late. I used to do homework at 2 or 3 a.m., but now I struggle to stay up until midnight on weekdays. Additionally, I now find…

My name is Vu Thanh Lam. I started school when I was 6 years-old. I have to say my study life is just normal as every child. From elementary school to high school, then going to university, I was a normal student, but for all of events and entertainment programs in school, I was willing to attend. I like building a network, such as making lots of friends and acquaintance when I was in school, instead of studying as a “crazy scholar”. I considered myself as a social girl. My friends call me as a “funny person” because I like to tell a funny story to avoid the negative thinking. When I was in 3rd year in Dainam University in Vietnam, I decided to go to Saxion to finish my last year in the Netherland. This is a decision that would change my life forever.…

When I was in my third grade of senior high school, I should choose the university and the major which I want to go on my further study after the college entrance examination. After the score came out, I chose Nursing as my first major. But my parents disagreed that strongly. Because I never said that I wanted to do something in the future relative with the medical career before. Both of them let me thought carefully because to be a nurse was very toilsome. Also, nurses always shift their work and they should go to work at night even. That’s a tired job. In addition, the process of being a nurse was difficult, too. My mother wanted me to be a teacher as her. At that time, I was so confuse that I didn’t know which one was suitable for me to choose. I knew what the advice my parents gave was good for me. I also knew my future was belongs me and I should make the choice by myself, not my parents. Maybe to be a teacher was good, but I didn’t like it for I so scare that I would mislead the kids. My mother quarreled with me because I didn’t follow what she said. For my insistence, my mother has to gave up and let me chose by myself. After this event, I decided all over the things by myself. No matter how important the thing is. Like the debates, although sometimes our opinions are different, we communicate our thoughts and make the choice depend on our own. If we hesitate to do one thing and do not make up our mind, we can’t do the thing successfully. So, when my university has the program of transferring to the ASU, I was attracted by this chance. I wanted to go so I told my parents what I thought. I knew it’s lonely and hard for me to study in an…
