Business casual is the new attire requirement in the workplace. Because of the highly competitive job market, companies are allowing workers to wear more casual clothing as an incentive. When the market is good, businesses have the means to do for the employee. However when the job market reverses, many go back to more strict dress codes.
Over the modern era, many laws and rules have passed in the work field to relax dress code
standards. Polls and petitions were answered, allowing women to wear flats in the workplace. Low-neck shirts and miniskirts are now becoming more accepted as society breaks away from conventional. Men and women are now being held on an equal playing field. If women wears heels, shouldn’t men be required the same? Casual friday’s have evolved to causal weeks. Business’s are mainly asking to dress as an interpretation of an individual rather than the institution, while keeping the business’s image in mind.
