What type of install is the cable going into? Is everything in a fixed position? If you have an install where items are moved around without being disconnected, using highly flexible cable is necessary. Cables in these scenarios need to be flexible to meet those demands of mobility, and also for the life of the wire so that it does not crack, break, fray or short. We had a job at a university where we moved flat panels on a track system to create different screen sizes, and for that we had to make sure the cable would meet the demand.…

In recent years, the trend of informality and casual dress in corporate America has gained popularity. The majority of employers and companies have shifted their dress codes from more traditional business attire (business suit and tie) to a “business casual” mode of dress. Recently, “a poll by the Society for Human Resources Management shows that 90% of U.S. office workers go to work in business casual clothes at least once per week.” (Norton 1) Under the impression that a more casual clothing code would result in enhanced employee satisfaction, morale, and productivity, the implementation of “dress down” days and “Casual Fridays” have become ordinary in corporate America. With any culture shift, this new tendency has created controversy and disagreement in the business world. What remains to be determined is: Do less formal dress codes really benefit businesses? While more casual dress codes may be effective in portraying a friendly, approachable working environment, dressing down may damage a company’s image. With that being said, do the costs of implementing an informal dress code outweigh the benefits? This seemingly uniform shift towards the “business casual” trend of dress, however, does not seem to be the most beneficial. A certain amount of strategy can be employed to help enhance dress codes and, in effect, further assist businesses.…

Professionalism and ettqueTe are very important in the representation of yourself and the brand you want to portray to employers. Professionalism can be expressed and presented in many different forms but the most important forms are appearance, dress, behavior, and communication skill. Appearance and dress can be easily categorized in the same bracket of professionalism. We have all heard of that ‘First impressions’ are highly important, especially in the employment industry. As stated in (LaSala, K. B., & Nelson, J., 2005) “First impressions transmit powerful messages. While an individual's perceptions should be based on what a person knows rather than how he or she looks, most people form an opinion about another person when they ²rst…

    Dress for Success

We’ve all heard the saying “Dress for Success,” and I believe this saying holds a very valuable meaning in any profession. The way you dress not only affects your confidence and your self-esteem, but it also casts the first impression you are giving to your fellow colleagues and/or prospective employers. What you wear will portray a visual communication of what you have to offer and what they can expect from you in the work field. The primary goal of dressing professional is to feel good about yourself and to project a positive image. Your non-verbal communication is just as important as your verbal communication in any situation. Of course your skills and knowledge are an important factor, but don’t forget to dress the part and rule out any possibilities why people will doubt your abilities to perform.…

Troy does not convince the audience about the meaning of office dress code today because he neglects to establish his credibility by telling the audience where he works. The only thing the audience knows about him is his foundation, which is Troy Alexander Project, a fashion and lifestyle focused blog. Although, Heather Pool used ethos to appeal to her audience, she was more credible and reliable than Troy Alexander and know the importance of dress code as she works on a plane. Her description about the aviation dress code is credible as she explains her own article based on observations and experiences. She explain to her audience about her job and her dress-code. By making her arguments, she tries to tell her audience why different occupations require different dress code. She also claims that that professional dress code does not only identify the employee or the company, but also gives the employee credible recognition. Therefore, Heather Pool’s arguments appears more trustworthy to the audience than troy Alexander’s arguments on the meaning of the office dress…

Creating and maintaining a professional image for yourself is important as we all know. No matter the occasion which you are attending, dressing up according to the theme of the event can help you stand out in a crowd of many. If you wear your casuals for a major project you will become a matter of joke for the ones around you. See if you actually take a few minutes to think about it, dressing formal actually brings you closer to any sort of success you have in mind. Yet I’ve noticed that by the passing years, our generation cares less about dressing more formal. It seems boring, unattractive, and in some cases people believe that it doesn’t let you express who you really are.…
