Dress Codes In College Vs High School
When school comes to mind it is not a favorite thought to most people. It is a place where education is given and received, but it depends on how each person takes it in. Even though they both might have similar rules, College and High School establish dress codes, scheduling, and environment differently.
In college, dress codes regularly do not exist. Students dress freely and it is not a primary focus. Scheduling in college is an important part for most students because of how flexible the choices for them are. Students choose their major and the classes they want to take, as well as the time and professor they choose. These rules are put out for students to cope with their work schedules and daily life. The environment is a more scattered space because students come from around the world to study. An important similarity college and high school have, is that if the student decides to not continue their education, then they have the freedom to drop out of high school or not attend college at all.

For example, dress codes in most high schools require students to wear uniforms and certain type of clothes that are appropriate and ID’s around their necks. Scheduling in high school is not as freely as choosing by your own time and liking. Administration chooses and formats the subjects, the hour of class, and the teacher. The environment is much smaller and mostly the students attending know each other since from elementary school. Even though all those things are different, classrooms and academic purpose in high school and college are the same. For instance, in college and high school, you still have seats and homework and tests. As well as the academic purpose is for your future

College is much different from my high school in so many ways. In my high school we was always on the same routine. We had four periods a day and first period started at 7:45 and we was on a block schedule meaning our classes was an hour and thirty minutes long. We had the same classes everyday so more learning during the day and less homework. Immediately after school we had football practice four days a week and played on Fridays. High school Is a good preparation for college, even though while in high school you will never expect what happens in college. In high school your parents were more involved in what go on in your daily life, whether you get in trouble in class or you get sick at lunch.…

Dress codes are rules that the country has utilized for years. But are these rules necessary? They often suppress students’ individuality as well as students’ self-expression. At the same time these rules also discriminate and needlessly sexualize young women. Dress codes were put in place to establish a distraction-free environment for students. And yet, they are doing the opposite, and thus, modifying or eliminating them would be most logical.…

High school classes might have seemed better in the past compared to college. You might feel more comfortable in smaller classes than you would heading off to university, but that is simply from the comfort of your surroundings. You are familiar with your teachers and your closest friends are always by your side. This might create a friendlier environment, but branching away from the only things you have ever known will help you grow as an individual. Leaving home to start your life as an adult can be tough; however, learning every day responsibilities and making new relationships are two things that will benefit anyone who is getting ready to enter the “real world.” Students benefit more from college classes over high school classes because they learn responsibilities and create new relationships which help them to gain independence.…

Dress codes. Dress codes are something that everyone has to deal with for almost their whole lives, but schools are where dress codes seem to be the most prominent. It seems that every couple of weeks a school has made the news because of their strict dress code or their punishments for breaking the dress code. As a teenage girl, the dress code is something that I have a love-hate relationship with. It can either limit what I can wear or make me thankful for giving me guidelines when I don’t know if something is appropriate enough to wear to school.…

As we all know, the seasons change year round, but we experience most of these weather changes during school. Summer to fall is the beginning of a new school year, as spring to summer is the ending of the school year. With the temperature changes during these seasons, they seem cause havoc in high schools, sometimes even in middle schools. Most people celebrate the weather change from winter to summer, yet teenage girls seem to dread this change because high schools treat dress codes like a “23-19” from Monsters’ Inc. Yet we constantly only see schools directing this dress code majorly at girls; when have we heard of a boy being sent home for his pants being too low? Never. Which is why many see reevaluating the dress code in public schools…

Dress codes regulate what can be worn in certain places, such as schools and facilities. These codes are controversial where ever they are enforced. People tend to think that the government does not have the power to tell them they cannot wear certain articles of clothing and the fact that some schools do it can throw people into a fit. Some people believe that dress codes stifle personal expression, that a dress code is the same thing as a uniform. Many people do not remember that individualism goes beyond clothes, and that a dress code will help kids to be more than the clothes they have or do not have. Dress codes allow students to set themselves apart from others by their actions not their appearance.…
