They have this arrogance that they can drive, they aren’t
“that” drunk. That makes for the most dangerous driver. They not only are careless enough to drive after they have been drinking but arrogant to think they are okay, they can handle it, they can drive after they have been drinking.
How is the life of a drunk driver impacted? For a drunk driver, dealing with the effects of their actions for driving while you were drunk may be even more difficult that the victims.
Guilt. They may be feeling tremendous guilt for the loss of friends or family members who died in the crash. Along with the victims, their lives are changed forever. They will be facing legal challenges, possibly going to jail or prison for a very long time and charged with murder, but the worst of all will be their guilt that may take a lifetime to overcome. Drinking and driving is illegal, plain and simple, but regardless of the law and how many drinks per hour you can have, drinking anything and driving is just plain stupid and reckless and in my opinion if you take the chance of drinking and driving it is not a matter of if you will get in an accident, it is a matter of when.
