Yeah that would be a normal text message that an everyday person would send. But there is only one thing wrong with this. Do you know what it is? If you said no you’re wrong. It was sent while they were driving. Texting and driving is very dangerous, it can kill you and other people around you. Texting and driving should be illegal in every state.
Most people would think that drinking and driving would be the worst possible thing to do in a car but you’re wrong. “Study’s found texting and driving is about as dangerous as driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent” (Hoffman). driving every day that is like having a drunken person driving on the road. “97% believe texting messaging while driving is dangerous” (Adsomitis). But still “Sixty–two percent of drivers say they use a cell phone while driving” (Wallace). Also the usage of cell phones in the past year had increased astronomically (Don’t talk; Just Drive). So drivers know it is dangerous but they still do it.
When you’re driving down the road the last thing you are thinking is if anyone is going to make me get into a car crash or is this going to be my last day of driving. Texting while driving is very fatal, “6,000 people died in crashes involving texting and driving 500,000 people were injured it has increased 8% in 2004 and 11% in 2008” (Carter). Texting while driving can kill you and the people that are around you. “Each day, more than 16 people are killed from texting and driving” (Carter) Just ask yourself, is one message worth giving up your life or someone else’s life?
