what follows is if they get pulled over they must blow in a breathalyzer and do whatever necessary sobriety tests are needed. After all that if indeed they are intoxicated over the legal limit they get arrested and can face jail time. Now obviously, we cannot catch every person and make them do these tests, but what if all vehicles either came installed with a breathalyzer or had to be installed with one if they didn’t? Alcohol that a person drinks shows up in the breath because it gets absorbed from the mouth, throat, stomach, and intestines into the bloodstream reported by howstuffworks.com. People can become experts in remembering the sobriety physical tests and pass even while being drunk but breathalyzers there is no way possible to get around those. If every vehicle had a breathalyzer in them and people had to blow in before they started their car up, DUI’s, fatalities, and accidents would become less of a problem. Most authorities these days make them mandatory in vehicles while on probation if arrested for a DUI, but if we keep them in all cars all the time things would never have to get to that point. Second, to go along with the breathalyzer solution some people don’t like to drive at all when they know they’ll be drinking.
Increasingly companies today are being established to where all you have to do is order them through an app on your phone and are less expensive. NCADD.org reports that in 2012 29.1 million people admitted to driving while intoxicated, you can probably guess more than half those people were coming from any kind of bar. If bars all around the world made it a rule if you go in and order alcohol they take your ID and make you find a taxi service to go home no one would ever have a chance to be behind the wheel. Constantly, people expect to go into a bar with intentions of drinking but never realize the dangers of driving afterwards. People think just because they had one or two drinks they are perfectly capable of driving home; this solution helps prevent them from doing so. Taking away their right to drive after drinking would help not only make the roads safer but the taxi services would benefit too by all the people they would drive
home. In conclusion, when it comes to drinking and driving something should of and needs to be done about it. These are just two things that could help prevent things enormously; Just like NCADD.org states alcohol, drugs, and driving simply do not go together. Being under the influence makes your reactions and judgment disoriented and can become very fatal if mixed with being behind the wheel not just for yourself but others too. This should be such an easy fix and people should be well enough aware not drive intoxicated but still do, so actions need to be taken no matter how they do it to keep everyone and their loved ones safe.
