If no drunk drivers was a repeat offender there would be 500,000 less arrest and 3,500 less driving while intoxicated related deaths. Less crime and death would happen if there were no DUI repeat offenders. In result if a drinker does not pick up their keys and drive they shall not be punished or be considered repeat offenders and the United States will be a safer country.
The reason why argument two is politically incorrect is because even if every american drank alcohol they are not forced into their car and drive, that was their choice. Just one button and an intoxicated person can call a cab or an Uber and save a life of another citizen by not driving. A drinker is not forced to drive meaning they can get a sober ride home instead of risking their life and their surrounding just so they can drive. In conclusion the choice is in the hand of drinker whether they call the cab and get home safely.
The DUI penalty should be increased because lives can be saved, many DUI felons are repeat felons, and with tech anyone can get a ride home. Every cab or Uber ride home could decrease crime and death rates every day do notpick up the bottle and drive home do it the safe
