When you hear the word drug, what is the first thing cross on your mind? Most people think of drugs such as cocaine, weed, heroine and esctacy but not many people associate alcohol with drugs. In today’s society, the common problem among teenagers is the use of drugs. One of the significant reasons is teenager’s family problem. Teenagers from broken family or those who have lost their parents encounter the lose of place to depend on and the place to feel love. This condition can affect teenagers development particularly in academic achievement as well as the formation of teenagers’ personality. Peer influence is one of the reasons why teenagers involved in drugs. In the effect that teenagers will try drugs just to fit in the social norms, they might do it to impress their buddies to be considered “cool” as part of being in the group and gain acceptance by friends. Besides, it is also depends on teenagers themselves. Most of them too curious to know how it feels if they use drugs. Those who can not control their emotions and maturity of their minds often take the easy way by getting involved in a variety of negative things like drugs. Because of the chemical changes in the brain that most drugs can create, one of the most devastating side effects of addition is physical development of teenagers are affected. As a result, negative effect on teenagers’ physical development such as deterioration of body weight and immune system may occur. The significant emotional impact on teenagers from the results on drug reaction such as irritable, panic and may be depression.
