The drug testing of the workplace makes sure that people are not doing drugs but also that they are productive and are doing there best at all times while working. Substance abusers are ⅓ less productive (Rosen, 2011) therefore when companies have employees that are substance abusers they are losing money. While many would say no to drug testing because it costs a company a lot of money the weakness in it is that the company could be losing money or being sued when workers are being substance abusers and therefore getting hurt. Drug testing can help with the workplace not having any substance abusers in the work area meaning that people are going to be nicer and will make everyone working feel comfortable and making them happier. 8% of full time workers and 11% of part-time workers are substance abusers and they could always come on the job and be high and therefore not being 100 and 10% happy and willing to help customers so that makes customers not want to come back.
