Luckily, after much practice and patience with myself, I eventually managed to drive farther distances and even to a mall that is 15 minutes from my house that is known for being busy. Things were going great in terms of my driving. I have now managed to drive anywhere within a 20 minute radius of my house and was now able to drive other people with very little hesitation. Everything seemed to be going okay, up until my friend and I decided to go and get our nails done before a school dance. I drove to her house to pick her up when she mentioned that her mother has her money, and her mother is at work so we have to drive to where her mother works to retrieve the money. I thought “okay, no problem, her mother does not work that far away.” I was horribly wrong. Her mother had moved offices, and was now working 45 minutes away. I pulled out of the parking lot, listened to my friends directions and then proceeded to drive around this unfamiliar place, completely out of my comfort zone. After about ten minutes, my friend and I get lost for a second time. We come to a stop light on a busy intersection, and my friend then proceeds to tell me that we have to make a U-turn to get back onto the correct route. I look around at the large amount of cars that were sharing the road with me and thought to myself “She must be crazy. There is no way I can do that.” I then noticed a 7-11 that was just up ahead. My prayers were answered. The light turned green and I proceeded to the 7-11. When I pulled into the parking lot and turned around to the same stoplight, the light was on yellow. I then speeded up, but by the time I was in the middle of the intersection, I was too late. The cars around me were already honking at me, and I was horrified. I had run my first red light. But there was no turning back. We were almost to my friend’s mom’s
