DTMF BASED DEVICE CONTROLLING ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION:
Now a day’s every system is automated in order to face new challenges in the present day situation.Automated systems have less manual operations,so that flexibility, reliabilities are high and accurate.Hence every field prefers automated control systems.Especially in the field of electronics automated systems are doing better performance. The industrial appliances can be switched on/off using DUAL TONE MULTI FREQUENCY TECHNOLOGY.
OBJECTIVE : The main function of the system is to control any electrical devices through mobile phone. The goal of the project is to develop a system, which uses Mobile technology that keeps control of various units of the automobiles, which executes with respect to signal sent by mobile.
METHOD:
In this concept two mobile phones with different service numbers are used, the control phone at receiving end, where the appliances are controlled is interfaced with microcontroller unit which controls the devices through relays.
To achieve this, the output of the mobile is amplified and fed to DTMF decoder chip, which generates binary code according to the received information from the other mobile phone. After establishing a communication link between the two mobiles by dialing the home mobile number, the corresponding keys of calling phone must be activated to generate different DTMF signals. Based on this signals, the DTMF decoder generates different binary codes through four outputs, and this data is Fed to the microcontroller. Now the program is prepared for the microcontroller to energize or de-energize the corresponding relay based on the code produced by the DTMF decoder chip.
SOFTWARE:
1) Keil C
2) 2) ORCAD/Express PCB
HARDWARE:
1) Micro controller.
2) DTMF
3) LCD module.
4) Power supply.

The history of mobile phones records the development of interconnection between the public switched telephone systems to radio transceivers. From the earliest days of transmitting speech by radio, connection of the radio system to the telephone network had obvious benefits of eliminating the wires. Early systems used bulky, high power consuming equipment and supported only a few conversations at a time, with required manual set-up of the interconnection. Today cellular technology and microprocessor control systems allow automatic and pervasive use of mobile phones for voice and data.…

In this project, the robot arm is controlled by a mobile phone that makes a call to the mobile phone attached to the robot arm. In the course of a call, if any button is pressed, a tone corresponding to the button pressed is heard at the other end of the call. This tone is called ‘dual-tone multiple-frequency’ (DTMF) tone. The robot arm perceives this DTMF tone with the help of the phone stacked in the robot arm. The received tone is processed by the ATmega16 microcontroller with the help of DTMF decoder MT8870. The decoder decodes the DTMF tone into its equivalent binary…

The input voltage must always be higher than the output voltage by some minimum amount (typically 1.5 to 2 volts) . 7805 is a linear voltage regulator, so it is not very efficient and it has drop out voltage problem. As they are based on a linear regulator design, the input current required is always the same as the output current. As the input voltage must always be higher than the output voltage, this means that the total power (voltage multiplied by current) going into the 78xx will be more than the output power provided. The extra input power is dissipated as heat. This means both that for some applications an adequate heatsink must be provided, and also that a (often substantial) portion of the input power is wasted during the process, rendering them less efficient than some other types of power supplies7805 IC has a thermal shutdown feature to protect the IC in case of overheating so it should be safe to use 7805 without a heatsink plate for less than 200mA load. However should your load cross 200mA, you should consider using a heatsink plate. Heatsink plate should be large enough to bring 7805 heat to such a level that you can comfortably touch it…
