During the Summer Holidays...
During the summer holidays I have no hurry to wake up, hence I wake up slowly and prepare myself a nice full breakfast. On the table I always find a paper with the grocery needs and some money my mother would have left before going to work. I put on some clothes and leave quietly to do the errand, but I never expected that a simple run to the grocer would change my perspective towards life. One particular day I carried out the same procedure and as I got in the supermarket, I took a trolley and started to collect items listed. My first stop would always be at the sweets section. I like to nibble something on my way to home. In the supermarket there is always someone to chat with; your friends or the neighbors or schoolmates. With no doubt we always say a word or two.
After the shopping list was tackled all I went to pay. As the cashier started the bill, two men wearing everything in black entered. They were armed, one of them had a club in his hand and the other had a knife. People started shouting and running all over the store. The men started yelling and beating the club against the floor, telling us to lie flat on the ground.
My heart missed a beat when I saw one of them coming towards us. He was tall, well built and he didn't look that much of a gentleman. He started yelling with the cashier to give him the money. He grabbed the knife and started pointing it at us. My blood ran cold and I think I also peed in my pants.
She burst into tears and in a click of a second he grabbed her and throwed her on the ground. He started looking at me in a very cruel look. He started shouting at me and in an instant he grabbed me from my hair. He wanted me to transfer the money in the cash register onto a bag he gave me.
Tears were running all over my face. I admit it; I'm not that of a courageous boy. I was trembling so much with fear that I lost control of my hands hence I was dropping a lot of money on the floor, which caused more fear to arise. When the cash

Ordinarily, the sun’s light captured everything in sight like a mother hugging a child and giving it warmth. From the dark oak bed, I rose because of the unpleasant bites of mosquitoes. The Civil War is always on my mind. After a most successful battle yesterday when our soldiers all left home, relief and happiness came to mind, for there was a chance that we would win. Consequently, that would explain the surge of energy running through my body after waking up. Starting off with breakfast, I walked to my kitchen, the wood underneath my feet start to creak. The closer I walked to the kitchen, the warmer and cozier the atmosphere became. My servant, Julia, prepared breakfast for me today similar to many other days, I always wonder what will breakfast will be. Fresh eggs from my brown feathered hens were soft surrounded by creamy goat cheese, and well-cooked toast was on the plate this morning. Enjoying the meal is a morning ritual,…

on a less then pleasant day the weather was cold and rainy so before I left the safety of my car I turned my collar up to face the cold and made a bee line to the store so fast it would put Usain Bolt to shame. When I walked in the store I was greeted by the smell of coffee and sound of The Rolling Stones song Monkey Man playing over the store speakers with the owner of the store john singing along to the song and throwing his arms up like a monkey. As soon as you walk into the store your face to face with a giant rack of used DVDs ranging from Driving Miss Daisy to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre the store itself is not very big on the left side of the store is a shelf contain records from Abba to Rob Zombie on the right side is a shelf holding the cds. I was immediately welcomed by john who sitting down in behind his cash register with a sign on it that read “No Personal Check” behind him was a giant poster of Frank Zappa which seemed like one of his most prized positions john had. John had on a tie dyed rolling stones shirt john had looked tried and he seemed to be discomfort later I found out he looked that way due to having MS.…

Three robbers entered a Commerce City, Colo., residence, one of them pulled a knife, according to officials. The two men and a woman apparently had planned to rob an acquaintance: but the homeowner resisted the threat, drawing his semiautomatic handgun and shooting the two men. After the three fled, they called for medical help from a cousin's house. The police followed shortly thereafter. "As soon as they get out of the hospital, we'll be there to meet and greet them," said Sgt. Craig Coleman of the Adams County Sheriff's Dept. (rifleman)…

I had only gotten six hours of sleep. I didn’t want to get up but today is the day that I get to explore Chicago with my friends! Even though I felt exhausted I pushed myself up and got ready. I didn’t know whether to expect it to be warm like the last few days have been or if it would be cold, so I dressed for both. I pulled my sneakers on and collected my little bag full of snacks and essentials for walking around all day. Getting to school I go sit with my friends outside the gym as we anxiously wait for the bell to ring. We came up with our plan of where we wanted to go as we munched on our little breakfast.…

I remember the first time I stayed awake throughout the night till a beaming light peaked through the window and hit my face like the touch of a baby's hand. Although the morning had risen, the moon had just come up. In the intensity of rushing to school, the need for pleasing others with looks has gone past me. The knots and tangles I feel in my stomach have also reached my hair as I pull parts of my day out of the strands.…

He was mean, he was ugly, and he was big. But he pushed a girl and that was something my parents made sure I understood. No matter what any of my sisters did to me, I was not to ever harm a girl. His nostrils were widened while he sniffed laughing at Mary on the ground. His big head was turning just when I reached him. I jumped up to his face, throwing all of my anger behind one punch. I struck gold! His nose started bleeding immediately. He fell to the ground cupping his face as blood leaked through his fingers. I could hear muffled sobs as he laid there weeping. He deserved worse even though. He made my best friend turn on me, ruined my fun when he tramped through the pile of leaves, and hurt my favorite niece…

I remember when we were doing a deal, in Darlinghurst. In Hyde Park. Nice and dark and plenty of escape routes if necessary. That night is still burned into my memory. The trees were swaying in the slight breeze on that cold winter night. Sydney isn’t known for its cold weather, but the grass had turned white from the frost – or maybe it was just the reflection of the moonlight. I couldn’t be sure. The Pool of Remembrance stood out in the middle of the park, with ever so slight ripples in the water from where twigs had fallen into it from the surrounding trees. I stood in the cold with Alex, my best mate at the time, waiting for our customer to show. I had never been so close to a friend. He was my best mate, and at the time I honestly thought that I would stick by him no matter what. How wrong I was. Suddenly the tranquility and peacefulness of the night turned into chaos. Red and blue flashing lights appeared out of the darkness and advanced on us from all directions. There must have been at least twenty policemen, if not more. Alex and I did not need to think twice. We started running. I heard gunshots from the policemen. Bullets started fizzing past our ears, each one getting closer and closer to us,…

The car screamed to a halt, four men wearing masks jumped out and ran into the nearest building, I looked around. The street was deserted except for me. The plan was working; and it was not the first time that I went on a mission like this. We planned these robberies in sparse, quiet neighborhoods that did not have many people, stores, or emergency response teams. Together, the five of us made up a team that is sweeping the nation. We rob the most unsuspecting stores, which do not have security cameras or money vaults. We find that these stores surprisingly have the most money in their registers.…
