Eagle Project Case Study
The most significant challenge that I have faced was my Eagle project. It started of well, I managed to acquire enough donations to construct the planned amount of boardwalk and had found several volunteers. I planned to do my project in April to avoid bad weather during the winter. The first problem arose when my project benefactor wanted to change the type of decking used which caused the cost of the project to double. This resulted in the length of boardwalk being reduced to approximately one hundred feet. The day of my project arrived and the weather was slightly overcast but over all clear when we started. I then had to organize and direct upwards of 35 volunteers, many of whom were young scouts who were unable to use power tools

This report includes qualitative and quantitative analyses regarding the cost-benefit of the proposed move of Eastern Talon Transport’s (ETT) long-haul dispatch department inter-provincially from Laval, Quebec to Mississauga, Ontario. The qualitative section explores the reason why a reduction in operating costs is an important strategy for ETT, how the changes may effect staff productivity and what the union concerns around the proposed move would be. The quantitative section looks at how the estimated productivity gain will translate into fewer employees needed in the Mississauga office and how much this equals to in annual savings, coupled with that could be saved annually in paid rent should ETT empty one floor in Laval and sublet it. The amount of one-time investments associated with the move to Mississauga is also calculated in the quantitative analysis in order to help determine at what point these investments payoff. The recommendations section uses the results from both analyses to support the decision to move the dispatchers to the Mississauga location.…

As a team, we started off by establishing that we wanted to work with a non-profit involved with refugees and immigrants. This is because it is currently one of the biggest topics in the United States and the presidential debate. We became a group because we all were individually passionate about the issue and wanted to make as big of a difference as possible to help immigrants integrate into American lifestyle. We then met up, got to know each other a little bit better and how we work in teams, and finally started to research some non-profits in the local area. After researching for a brief while, we decided to pursue working with Higher Ground International, which caters to refugees coming to America from Western Africa. Our team leader went on to contact some board members from Higher Ground, and they wanted to get to know us better. As a result, we volunteered at a Cultural Gala they hosted at a hotel in Providence. After volunteering at this gala, we learned more about this organization and some potential problems that we may want to fix with our project.…
