The statement which we are required to examine can give vague answers as it includes 2 fundamental theories, Management and Leadership. From the Leadership ppt presentation, I can see that the main focus will be on leadership and how it differs from management. In addition to this I can see that we have to discuss the scientific evolution of leadership theories , Max Weber - Charismatic leadership Model (Trait or Great Man Theory) - which argues leader are born not made.
We will then have to describe and critique behavioral theories of Leadership - Michigan and Ohio studies, Leadership Grid
Finally we will need to discuss transactional and transformational theories of leadership .
In a way we will have to evaluate the different approaches to leadership , (Just like we did for Management theory) , But can anyone please advice me if we have to keep relating it to management as we go along because I am worried, I will end up with too much material to talk about. I mean about both management and leadership theories?
