Easter Break Case Study
Decisions. Decisions. What should I do? It’s the beginning of Easter break, it’s time to stay up late and sleep in. Plus, my best friend, Caroline, has called and wants me to go camping with her and her family in Georgia. I really want to go but there is only one thing stopping me from packing my swimsuit and suntan lotion, and going to Georgia. It is the commitment I made two years ago to learn how to play the bass guitar and join my church's worship team. Now, I must make the choice between going to Georgia or staying at my house to play the bass on Easter Sunday. Caroline needs an answer the next day. I want to say “Yes”, and start packing. However, all I can hear in my head is my dad’s voice over and over again like a broken record saying, “Let your yes be yes and your no be no.” Then, I hear him saying another one of his favorite quotes, “You can never go wrong by doing the right thing.” I tried to get his voice out of my head but nothing worked. Therefore I decided to go ask my mom for help with my decision. I thought maybe she would give me the answer I wanted. After explaining the decision I had to make to my mom, she said, “You are old enough to make your own decisions, …show more content…
Every practice is different and these two practices didn't go as well as usual. The song selection and keys to the songs were changed multiple times. The worship team was not listening to our leader. It was chaos. The music just wasn't coming together. We all felt unprepared, and were worried that it wouldn't be our best music service. We wanted our best for Easter Sunday. Our church had a large congregation with a lot of visitors on Easter Sunday. The church had excitement in the air, and it took a few minutes to get everyone seated and quieted down. Pastor Sorie read the morning announcements, and we had an opening prayer. Then, we begin to play and sing our worship

Changing the five day school week has been argued for and against due the controversy as to whether or not it would actually be beneficial to students and teachers. When approaching the idea, many people would like to believe that five day school weeks are the most efficient and productive way to educate our youth. What is often overlooked, however, is that it is causing students to dread school more than they already do, and lessen their willingness to be in or attentive at school. Not only this, but many teachers easily get behind on either grading or lesson planning, while the school could actually save money when switching to this schedule. By refreshing the way the school schedule has previously been, we can address the issue of exhausted students who don 't truly learn anything, teachers who are overwhelmed with work and the economic questions within America 's schools. Providing both students and teachers with a more equal week of break and school time by having Wednesdays off will make students more willing to attend school, give the teachers time to furnish their lesson plans and give the school a break in costs.…

It was only this morning when mother came in and asked me the most random question ever. She asked me if I've ever thought about marriage but to be honest, I have never in my life even thought about it since I'm only thirteen. Thirteen may sound like a very young age however, it’s rather normal for someone my age to get married and even have children. Mother asked me that question simply because the ‘valiant’ Count Paris has taken interest in me. I'm not sure if I should feel happy or not but I promised my mother that I would attend the masquerade our family have organised later today to interact with Paris even though I didn’t really want to because I just can’t disobey the people who I most respect, my mother and father.…

The Primary section of the service consisted or an Opening song, Greetings and Announcements, an Opening Prayer, Gospel, another Prayer, and Communion. The whole process took about an hour and a half. During the Opening song the atmosphere felt tense, everyone was very serious and it was easy to see the dedication in the crowd. It made me feel very excluded because my faith is not the same. During the greetings and announcements the tension broke and it felt more inviting while the Priest explained things that were happening in the church over the next week. The greetings were followed by an opening prayer, and then a reading from the Gospel. The same atmosphere of tension and focus returned. It seemed as though everyone other than me was possessed by the words of the priest. At this point two individuals in white robes with lit candles and baskets on polls began Collection for charity and the church. Growing up I went to a very small Baptist church where we just passed around a small basket for collections, so this process seems very overdramatic to me. After collections they started Communion where we had the option of being blessed by the priest, drinking the juice representing Christ’s blood, and eating the wafer representing Christ’s body. I would have guessed from the previous atmosphere that everyone would want to be part of this but only a handful of people participated. Mostly Parents with young children.…

St Jude’s Anglican Church is in Randwick and I attended the 9.30am Service, which is a Sung Eucharist with Holy Communion. This begun with the procession of Servers, Choir and Clergy followed by our first Hymn (there were 4 Hymns altogether). The Service was clear to follow as it was printed in a booklet and was led by Rev Jim Le Huray who is the Associate Minister. The Bible readings, prayers and Collect of the day are different each week and these are printed on a weekly sheet so they too can be read. The Assistant Minister, Rev John Bartik gave the Sermon which was about suffering unjustly but if we serve God we will live freely. After this, we greeted other congregation members with a “Peace” handshake and sang an Offertory hymn where a plate was passed around and donations were made.…

Last Saturday, I was going to play basketball at my school. When I arrived at my school I realized that I needed to read a book for my school test. So I had to choose between playing basketball or reading a book for my school. My basketball teacher needed me to train that day, because he wanted to test a new basketball strategy. But the book would have a big importance in my test. If I played basketball, I would get bad marks in the most important test. This was a difficult decision I wanted to play basketball, but I couldn’t get bad marks in the test. I solved my conflict by talking to my teacher and said to him that I couldn't play basketball, because I needed read the book. My teacher freed me so I could read my book for the test. Finally…

As I stepped into the kitchen on a Saturday morning, my mom asks me a question any parent would normally ask, ”What are you doing tonight?” Now normally I would hang out with my friends and what not but tonight was my stay at home night. So I simply replied “Nothing mom, why?” Usually her answer is that she just needs to know these sort of things, being a mother and all, but this time it was different; the answer didn’t come out so quickly like always. She sat and stared for a second like she was second-guessing on her reply. We sat in silence for a while until she quoted, “Would you like to watch Jordyn for me tonight?” Right then and there I knew my mom had trusted me with my eight month old sister, and my anxiousness grew.…

My family and I decided to go to church on Sunday November 17th for reason of not going for a long time because of our busy lifestyles. We go to First Lutheran Church right here in Marshall, MN. Recently the church got a new pastor named Scott Fuller. Since my family is not morning people we went to the 10 o'clock service instead of the 8 o'clock service that Sunday. The theme for the church service was “make a joyful noise unto the lord” (Psalm 100:1). With the theme being about music, Pastor Fuller incorporated music into his preaching's with songs about the love of god through praising and giving thanks. The message of that day happened to be community grows through shared interest in music that lifts God’s spirit.…
