Eating Habits
Eating habbits Junk food, keeping fit. In today’s fast-moving world, people have less and less time to spend eating. It is probably for this reason that junk food has become so popular, and there’s no doubt that it’s here to stay. In fact, it seems that you simply can’t get away from it. Obviously, a diet of junk food is not the best thing for your health, particularly as it is high in saturated fat. This type of fat is associated with great risk of cancer. Apart from the risk of cancer, another side effect of consuming highly fattering food is that you are likely to gain weight. This is especially true because you tend to eat more, as junk food is less satisfying and lower in vital nutrients than healthier food. The best advice, for those who cannot live without it, is to limit the amount junk foodthey eat/ A little now and then will probably do no harm. Young people pick up the idea that speed means excitement, whereas anything traditional is slow and boring. As a result, they turn down traditional food and go for junk food instead.Another alarming thing is that while the amount of junk food we eat has increased, the amount of exercise we do has actually decreased. Exercises help to control our weight and if taken regulary, can also decrease our having a heart attack in later life. What is more you don’t have to exercise much to gain vasible benefits, twenty minutes three times a week is all that is necessary. People nowadays are actually far more aware of the importance of exercise and healthy diet than they were a few years ago. Rcent reserch has shown that young people, who prefer burgers and chips to rich gourmet dishes, tend to become overweight. Reserchers suggest that the new genration will be much more likely to suffer from heart and liver desease. What can’t be emphasised enough is fact that a balanced diet and regular exrcise bring significant health benefits. You can gain anything from glowing skin to an allround feeling of good

Obesity attracts many other diseases to the human body. In the United State, there are many children including an adult who has become obese. As reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association, “17 percent of girls’ age12 to 19 years are now suffering from childhood obesity.” The level of obesity is still rising. According to an analysis by the World Health Organization, “In the USA, the male rates of being overweight or obese is higher than those of any other major country.” Most children are being exposed to junk food all their lives. They consume on junk food everywhere they go such as at home, at school, or at the restaurant. For example, many parents are so busy working, and they do not have the time to prepare healthy food for their children; therefore, the parents purchase junk food in grand quantity from the store, so their children can easily make something to eat while they are work. Because these children were exposed to junk food when they were kids, they do the same thing when they have their own family. That is one of the reasons why the level of obesity has increased. One important argument for the harmful effects of western diets and lifestyle is that they have negative effects on people’s physical health. First of all, the consumption of high-fat food, sugary desserts and drinks and red meat causes diseases. For example, after examining over 28,000 middle-aged women for 10 years, researchers find that the risk of developing high blood pressure is about 25 percent higher, comparing those who have red meat less than once every day with those who eat no red meat at all (Nutrition Action Health Letter 2008, p. 9). Moreover, according to Bray and Popkin (1998, p. 1171), when people have very-low-fat food they seldom have obesity and when people take more fat, they are more likely to become overweight. Secondly, less exercise, sedentary lifestyle and other bad habits make people unhealthy. For instance, according to Emerson (2005,p.141), there is clear evidence that low levels of physical exercise could lead to high risk of gaining cardiovascular disease, some cancers and type2 diabetes . Additionally, smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol result in…
