Most of us are. Today I will discuss ways you can incorporate healthy eating into your lifestyle even if you are always on the go. Eat breakfast, choose a variety of foods, and keeping nutritious snacks on hand are just a few of the ways you can still manage to eat something decent while maintaining a hectic pace.
Breakfast really is “the most important meal of the day!” It boosts your metabolism, provides you with the energy to get through your day, improves concentration and helps prevent you snacking on “junk food” later in the day. There is no excuse for skipping breakfast! It’s one of the fastest and easiest meals we can have, and one of the best changes you can make. A high fiber breakfast will give you longer lasting energy; boost your long term health; and help keep you regular. Boost the fiber content of your breakfast by including foods such as wholegrain bread, high fiber cereal, fresh fruit, nuts, seeds. Having something for breakfast is better than having nothing at all. If you struggle to squeeze in a proper breakfast, pack a portable breakfast to have on your way to work or once you arrive at work. Healthy options include breakfast bars, yogurt, fruit, breakfast drinks, fruit bread or a low-fat bran muffin.
We are urged to eat a variety of foods; to balance the food we eat with physical activity in order to maintain or improve our weight; to choose a diet with plenty of grain products, vegetables, and fruits; to limit consumption of fats, sugars, and salts; and to drink alcoholic beverages in moderation.
