Corruption has become one of the most embarrassing and explosive problems all over the world, especially in the third world country like Pakistan. It is fraught with dangers of devastating dimensions and evil impacts and implication of grave and formidable magnitude. Corruption demoralized our nation and it creates depression and frustration in the society and state. It spreads the felling of uncertainty, instability and insecurity among the masses. As a result, a nation’s good image is spoiled all over the world.
Lawlessness becomes an order of the day due to poverty, corruption, violence, indiscipline, mass-illiteracy, conflict and confrontation created by Corruption. Corruption is highly dangerous and devastating for country like Pakistan that has a fragile economy and political instability. If the evil of Corruption is not nipped in the bud, it may spread rapidly like a bush-fire and may the whole nation suffer in this epidemic. The main causes of Corruption are mass illiteracy, abject poverty, wrong economic policies of the government, men’s burning and insatiable desires to accumulate countless riches or to become rich overnight. The non-availability of basic necessities and facilities like education, health care and job also paves the way to spread Corruption in a society or state. Capitalism and uneven distribution of wealth and opportune, non-availability of fundamental rights and liberties are also spread by Corruption.
It should be the primary concern of the man at the cost of our affairs as well as the scholars, educationists, political parties, NGO’s and national mass media to take necessary steps at their levels for eradication of the growing menace of Corruption in the best of national and human interest.
