When Edgar Allan Poe was the age of three both his parents died, causing him, his brother, and his sister to become orphans. Until John Allan and Frances Allan adopted only Edgar out of the three siblings. It must be sad for Edgar Allan Poe, because he does not truly know his real parents or his siblings.
