Edgar Allan Poe Murder Case
At about 5:00 am o 6 October 1849 Edgar Allan Poe was discovered police, murdered in the Black room. all residents of the mansion have been thoroughly questioned and interview. After revising all evidence, I know that the Raven killed Poe. Upon talking to him, he claimed that Lenore left the violet room at 9:45pm and returned at 10:00pm. This shows that the Raven did not have an alibi for fifteen minutes.

As it can be seen in the police report, the windows in both the black room and violet room, were wide open. However, the killing took place in October, a typically cold month for Maryland. the open windo ws allowed the Raven to fly quickly out of the violet room to the black room before Lenore got

Edgar Allan Poe was the voice of a culture when it came to literature. His works were widely read and loved by many of the people in his time. Poe used themes that people were afraid of, he preyed on people’s most socially rooted fears and made people see them presented in front of them. In Critical Theory Today, Lois Tyson says, “our subjectivity, or selfhood is shaped by and shapes the culture into we were born” (284). In the same way, you can say that Edgar Allan Poe’s writing was shaped by the world he was born into. He was born into a world that was the blossoming of science. He was born into a world in the midst of a great change from the ideals of religion and art governing society morphing into a society governed by scientific fact and reason. And, mostly, he was born into a world that feared death. One of the most present fears in society at the time was a fear of premature…

Poe's greatest influence comes from his murder mystery stories, where some claim he invented them. His impact is seen today in the literature of American fiction and science fiction, previously believed to be fake, with Poe's peers. Poe was so precise in his creations of literature that he wrote an essay, explaining the steps he took to achieve the level of excellence that he strived for in every piece that he writes. Poe's goal in writing the poem "The Raven" was to make it as short and commendably well written as possible, and in doing this, he predicted the tendency of symbolist and modern poetry. Poe was also famous for his embellishments in his tales of terror; self proclaimed arabesques rather than his grotesques, the funny and sarcastic oddities of Gothic literature like "The Pit and the Pendulum". Poe lives on through his writing, and will truly remain an eccentric icon of American…

Another reason why Mr. Smith is innocent, is due to his actions during the dismembering of Edgar Poe’s body. On paragraph twelve of his statement, it states, “The night waned, and I worked hastily, but in silence.” For a sane person, they would have a response to the dismembering such as vomit or another physical response. But, for an insane person they could’ve worked in silence and not have had an initial response to the cutting of the body. From those actions, we could theorize that Mr. Smith would be insane, deranged, or have mental problems. Since he didn’t have an initial response to the chopped body, we could assume that he would be insane and not guilty for the murder of Edgar Poe, the old man.…

Driving is a privilege that people have deemed a right and some believe it is even okay to drink and drive having a license gives no one the right to endanger lives. With PEOPLE v. WATSON, the defendant had multiple DUI’s and was found guilty of second degree murder based on a theory of “implied malice.” This case left a precedent of ensuring that every person caught driving under the influence faces prosecution by signing a “Watson Advisement.” However, there is enough educational warning about the dangers of driving under the influence that even in the first DUI a person should be charged with deeper punishment.…

The death penalty is one of the most controversial topics in the world right now. This controversy is only emphasized in the short story, “The Tell-Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe when a man murders another man over his “vulture” eye. The story takes place in an old room of an old house. He suffers from mental illness, and he is scared by his neighbor’s “vulture” eye. This paranoia and anxiety leads to the murder of the old man. Based on the evidence presented in the 8th Amendment of the Death Penalty, the main character should be sentenced to the death penalty based on the aggravating evidence and the definition of justice.…
