Poe’s Eerie Dream
“All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream” said Edgar Allan Poe. Poe had a hard life when he was a young boy. It seemed like a bad dream. Poe is known for his scary and mysterious books. After taking a look at the life and work of Edgar Allan Poe, it is apparent that this writer deserves recognition as a profound American author.
Edgar Allan Poe had a difficult early life. Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 19 1809 (Poets.org). Poe was a very smart and intelligent young boy. Poe attended the best schools available, and was accepted to the University of Virginia at Charlottesville in 1825 ("Edgar Allan Poe." Poetry). Poe never really know his parents. In 1827 the first book Poe published was Tamerlane and Other Poems (Bio.com.). At the time he went to the army. Before he went to West Point, he published a second collection Al Aaraaf, Tamberlane, and Minor Poems in 1829 (Bio.com.). He always wanted to go to West Point but after a year he got kicked out of the army. After me got kicked out he went to writing full time.
Poe did not achieve many things because he did not live a long life but, he still activated he somethings in his life. In 1836 he married his twelve-year-old cousin Virginia("Edgar Allan Poe." Poetry). They were married tell his the day of his death. Edgar Allan Poe died at the very young age of forty on October 7 1849 (Bio.com). Many people still know Poe for his famous poems (“Edgar Allan Poe”). Poe is still known and thought of still to this day.
The profound American author Edgar Allen Poe deserves recognition. His life was like a very bad dream. Poe did not have an easy life and he did not live a long time but, his mysterious books are very well known still to this
