Edgar Allan Poe Accomplishments

Edgar Allan Poe Edgar Allan Poe was a well known author from the 1800s even still today. He was the author of stories and poems such as The Bells, The Raven, The Cask of Amontillado and many more. He faced rough times in his life and that is why his poems and stories are so sad, suspenseful and gory. Edgar will always be remembered as a good author. Poe was the author of many great stories and poem. The Raven was a suspenseful poem that had people on the edge of their seats. The poem was about a man in his house and it was a very dark night. He kept hearing something hitting the window and when he looked there was nothing there. He went back to sit down but he kept hearing it so he checked again and opened the window and a raven flew into
Since such tragic things happened to him when he was younger that might have been the reason he wrote such horrifying things. After Poe lost both of his parents he went to live with John Allan (Lemco). John didn’t actually adopt Poe he just took care of him and was his legal guardian. John gave Poe a really good education include five years in England and he sent Poe to College (Lemco). He enlisted for the U.S army but had to leave because of lack of financial support (“Edgar Allan Poe”). When Poe had to leave West Point Allan disowned him (Kinsella). When Poe died it was the end of a great author. He died in Baltimore on October 6, 1849, he was found on the side of the street some people think he might have been drunk, after he was taken to the hospital he died (Lemco). Before Poe died he was suppose to go to Philadelphia but for some reason he decided to stop at Baltimore (“Edgar Allan Poe”). Edgar Allan Poe will be remembered forever because he was a great author. He was a brilliant man who faced a lot of hardship in his life. He put all that happened to him in his stories and poems. He deserves to be talked about for all the stories and poems he wrote.
