Edna Hacker Analysis

Edna Hacker’s statement that “no company should be made to pay for misuse of their products.” was wrong because she is comparing the use of tobacco and the use of other products such as cell phones and automobiles. Tobacco use and cell phone use, for example, are two different things that do not have any relationship with each other. Tobacco does not provide people with any benefits, using any kind of tobacco products lead numerous of health problem, and using tobacco can lead to addiction.
One reason why Hacker’s statement is incorrect is because tobacco does not have any positive benefits on people. For instance, smoking any kinds of tobacco lead to many health issue and does not have any positive benefits from it, unlike other kinds of products such as mobile device,
automobile, and many others that can provide positive benefits on people. Mobile device make it convenience for the communication between people much faster and easy. Automobile help people get from one place to another place much faster and convenience, unlike smoking any kind of tobacco only lead to negative effect on people. Hacker’s claim that no company should be made to pay for the misuse of products, but without misuse of tobacco, people can still effect by using the product that can lead to many health issues.
Furthermore, using tobacco can lead to numerous of health problem. For example tobacco is very harmful to health that can lead to many of health risk such as lung cancer, throat cancer, coronary heart disease etc. Every time people smoke cigarette, they increase the chance of getting cancer and many other disease that can lead them to death. For example; throat cancer which is a cancerous tumor that develops in people throat and voice box. The main cause of the cancers is from smoking any kinds of tobacco. Throat cancer is very contentious that can spread very easy and very quickly and without proper treatment can lead to death.
Tobacco is a plant that grown in America, the active chemical in tobacco called nicotine and is very addictive chemical that can cause many health problems.
Since tobacco contains an addictive chemical that can make people get addictive to the drugs that is hard to quit. And not only it affects the person who uses it but also people around them effect by that too. For example, second hand smoke can affect the innocence people around the smoker can inhale it which leads them to have many health problems. In addition, tobacco such as cigarette, pipe, and cigar, are very harmful to their health and not only have negative effect on the person who smoke it but also people around them can be affected by them too.
In conclusion, Hacker’s argument that “no company should be made to pay for the misuse of their product.” was incorrect because Hacker compares two different products that do not have any connection with each other. Automobile and cell phone provide people with many benefits, but tobacco does not. Furthermore, using any kind of the tobacco products only lead to numerous issues to the health, and since tobacco is made from nicotine not only effects the smoker but also people around them as
well.
