Social Networking

Social Networking- is the use of internet-based social media programs to make connections with friends, family, classmates, customers and clients. Social networking can be done for social purposes, business purposes or both. Some examples of social networks are: a) LinkedIn b) Tumblr c) Google+
LinkedIn
LinkedIn is also known as the social network where professionals can connect. Individuals can promote themselves and their businesses make connections with other professionals, interact in group discussions, post job advertisements or apply for a job. 1. Features of the LinkedIn social Network: * View Company updates in-stream. * Popup profiles show company details from the dashboard. * Monitor, schedule and post to discussions in LinkedIn in groups. * Create a list of jobs based on search results. * Publish updates to your personal LinkedIn profile. * Preview jobs listings in a popup. 2. A usage of the LinkedIn is that you can be at an advantage to get job descriptions. Professionals of any kind can tutor you or give you the requirements of jobs that you might be applying for, also to connect to the world’s professionals to enable them to be more productive and successful.

Tumblr Tumblr is another form of micro- blogging, but unlike other social networks is heavily influence by image sharing. You can follow other users and be followed back. “Re-blogging” and” liking “ is a popular way to interact. If you post great content, you might be surprised to see how many followers you can attract. 1. Features of the Tumblr social network: * Private messages. * Real time updates from other users. * Live search results. * Public message posting. * Uploading of photos. * Uploading of videos. 3. A usage of the Tumblr social network is that companies can pay to promote their own posts to a larger audience. Tumblr
