educated and MBA
For what it means to be educated, these are the previous responses I gave: “I personally think being educated means having a demonstrated ability to listen carefully, to think critically, to evaluate facts rigorously, to reason analytically, to imagine creatively, to articulate interesting questions, to explore alternative viewpoints, to maintain intellectual curiosity and to speak and write persuasively.”
Presently, I believe that being able to communicate concisely, ability to look into facts and draw conclusions, being open-minded, being curious, ability to negotiate, showing discipline, are among some of what it means to be educated. All these are attributes of an educated individual from my point of view.

Not a lot has changed from what I previously thought about what it means to be educated. These are one of what I previously thought about the meaning of being an educated individual but were not stated. For instance, I still believe that being a good listener is an attribute of an educated individual but I have not stated that now as part of what I think presently.

I think it should be assumed that for the sake of discussion, there is always a possibility of leaving out some of the reasons why and narrowing down to a few. I still have the same meanings of what it means to be educated as previously stated and the current reasons whether similar or different, are just part of the repertoire.

Although the answer to why someone’s purpose of achieving a MBA would depend on individual set of goals, there is no doubt that a MBA is and viewed by many as a very valuable degree in the business world. Just as anyone else pursuing a MBA, I have my own reasons why I am pursuing one. Some of the reasons why I am pursuing a MBA includes but not limited to: competitive advantage, career advancement, management skills acquisition, development of decision-making skills, enhancement of written and oral communication skills, leadership, teamwork, maturity, and

Educated people can take the world into their hands and make it their own. “Knowledge is power,” and education empowers people by enabling them to lead and teach others. For instance, as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I will be in charge of overseeing all the procedures and patients in the clinic. My employer will be looking for someone who can be a leader to the other employees: an individual with education who can be trusted to make good, informed decisions. Having an education also enables one to remain open to learning new procedures and techniques.…

What does it mean to be educated? First of all, the majority of people would have probably defined this as an individual who is intelligent, knowledgeable and has obtained a higher educational degree of some sort: Associate, Bachelor, Master or a Doctorate (P.H.D) degree. Colleges and universities prepare students for the real-world, but also provides the opportunity to access to a valuable, knowledgeable and more in-depth learning. In contrast to high school years, which seems to be more sugarcoated or irrelevant. Furthermore, a well-educated individual has the ability to entertain an idea of something that others disagree. Additionally, capable of making rational and reasonable explanations. The characteristics of a well-educated person…

Many claim to be educated people. But what does it mean to become an educated person? An educated person is not the one who has a high GPA or scored advanced on assessment tests. To be educated is to accept the idea that a person does not know anything until he or she opens the door to learning different aspects of life. School is not the only way of seeking knowledge; education derives from different activities like exploring other peoples’ ideas, thinking creatively, learning from one’s past mistakes, and learning skills that may help you survive and maybe succeed in life.…

I think the Michigan State definition matches closely with my perception of an education person. We are living in a society that is constantly changing; an educated person must be able to adapt to these changes. Not only must we have 21st century skills, we must be able to apply them to situations different from the ones in which we may have acquired these skills. Most important, an educated person must know how to get, understand, analyze and communicate information. Clearly, being educated is more than the mere acquisition of information; it is a person’s ability to use that information to meet life’s…

    The Educated Man

The educated man is an individual. He marches to the beat of his own drum and is not easily swayed by the opinions of the mob. Yet, he is deferential toward his elders and those more experienced than he. The educated man is on the streets, not in the ivory tower. The educated man is not afraid to get his hands dirty, for he knows that all the knowledge in the world is useless without action. The educated man is articulate, for he knows that all the knowledge in the world is useless if one cannot convey that knowledge to another in a meaningful way. The educated man appreciates the beautiful, disdains the ugly, and has nothing but contempt for the banal. The educated man knows there is absolute truth and his personal philosophy reflects that belief. He believes there are things in this world worth fighting for, indeed worth dying for. For he knows that the man who believes there is nothing for which he would die will inevitably discover he has nothing for which to live. The educated man knows that how one spends his leisure time, perhaps more than anything else, defines who that person is. Therefore, the educated man is never at a loss for what to do with his time. The educated man welcomes all trials and tribulations, for he knows they are the best teachers. The educated man believes that the unexamined life is not worth living. Therefore, he is reflective and seeks always to better himself, his family, and his community. The educated man is humble. He knows that the mark of a truly educated person is realizing how little he actually knows. For this reason, his thirst for knowledge and wisdom is never quenched.…
