SYNOPSIS
A STUDY ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES IN ITES AND BPO SECTOR

INTRODUCTION
Training refers to a temporary process utilizing a systematic and organized procedure by which non-managerial personnel acquire technical knowledge and skills for a definite purpose.
Development is a long term education process utilizing a systematic organized procedure by which managerial personnel learn conceptual and theoretical knowledge for a general purpose.
Employee training programs provide focused training to a number of employees either on a one-time or recurring basis. Programs can be developed in-house or employees can attend more generic programs, e.g., at a local university, college or training center. Programs are conducted for a variety of topics, e.g., training about communications, computer skills, customer service, quality initiatives, safety, sexual harassment, diversity training, etc.

1) Increased job satisfaction and morale among employees.

6) Reduced employee turnover.
7) Enhanced company image, e.g., conducting ethics training (not a good reason for ethics training!).
8) Risk management, e.g., training about sexual harassment, diversity training.
OBJECTIVE
Primary Objective
The primary objective of the study is to measure the effect of training and development programmes in improving the productivity of employees.
Secondary Objective
1. To find out the different types of training programmes offered to employees.
2. To study and analyse the frequency of training.
3. To study the employees productivity before training and after training.
4. To measure the satisfaction level of employees after attending training programmes
