States are starting to gradually increase minimum wages. It was debating the minimum wage should be increased because it would increase wages to a respectable living wage. It was once suggested that minimum wage at least raises to $9 which would be comparable to the wages of the 1980s, which would boost the salary of approximately 15 million people. To even get todays salary back to what is equivalent to salary of 1968 it should be raised to at $10 per hour.
