An effect Industrialization had on consumers was that they made manufactured goods more abundant and available. Farmers who were poor but had good crops became successful at that time and earned lots of money as well as others. Consumers could experience what mass production was. During that moment, new technology began to come in and bigger businesses. As soon as there were more businesses, people moved into those areas and the population
began to get bigger. New machines as well, helped production get faster and easier. Britain was first to industrialize because they had plentiful, natural resources, water power, coal, and Iron ore.
Factory workers had rougher life’s. There labor hours working at the mill were from 5am to 8pm and only had a one hour break. They didn’t have any light but the natural light. There were dangerous machines. People working in factories could get lung disease, deformities in their bones, loss of fingers or any other part of their body. For the children who worked there were used to large and heavy equipment. Some children’s back was bent under load piled on their heads and shoulders. The most younger children would’ve been sent to textile mills and the people who were served by children would beat the children up. Children had NO rights at that moment. Factory owners has all the power.
It was 1833, when the Factory Act was approved. The Factory Act protected children working in the factories. Children younger than 9 years old couldn’t work. And they needed at least 20 hours of school. Life began to get better for many people, better jobs, less work in the factory, and children got most of their education. Even though they didn’t have happy lives, they should be proud of themselves for working so hard, no matter the job and how though it was.
