Reconstruction started in 1865, its purpose, to rebuild and reunite the south after the war. The results of reconstruction is that it failed. People were not seeing results fast enough, and thought that going back to how it was before would bring back the stability. The people who are majorly affected by reconstruction were the blacks. They were looked down upon as less than, this cause them to be excluded from new industries. Jim Crow laws, the laws separating the blacks from the whites, were supposed to be stopped, but places still separated them. Lastly, they got less money for education, and more punishment for their crimes. Reconstruction didn't end until 1877, with not much improvement to anything.
