The American Revolution of the 1700s, happened when the colonies began to become resentful toward British colonies. There was little to no representation from the colonists in government, so they had no say when the taxes got raised to pay off debts. Trade rules were put into place so there were only certain places that colonies could trade with. This was caused by bad harvest causing famine to become widespread, prices on bread and other food skyrocket which in turn caused riots in addition to high national debt which raised taxes so debts could be paid off. The Old Regime which in short gave excessive amounts of power and wealth to only a few, was ended and the Declaration of Rights of Man was put into play.
