Baby appears as a silent gateway driver engaged in a robbery syndicate organized by his boss Doc. Apparently, Doc organized crime, hired three criminals, and put them in Baby’s car. Interestingly, …show more content…
to drive safely and drop the criminals to their destination, Baby had to rely on his music and mix-tapes. Since his childhood, especially after experiencing a car accident, Baby developed tinnitus that forced him to live with ear-buds in his ears hence getting used to music in his environment. He even possessed iPods for different moods and recognized how the world responded to his choice of music.
Baby, in conjunction with his companions in crime, enhance high levels of energy in various scenes hence making the movie appear lively. Some of the people jumped a bit in their seats as Baby drove the car at high speeds in bumpy corners. Deborah kept on laughing in various scenes to the jokes of her new fiancée. Bats carried out some crucial roles associated with funny jokes and portrays an image filled with simmering danger. Such scenes create the sense of everyone’s involvement, especially when they appeared tapping their feet to the rhythm of the movie.
Three Major Characters as Consumers
Baby appears as one of the most outstanding characters in the movie with some consumer elements. Baby had to buy some iPods and listen to some music as the best way to counter the effects of his problem tinnitus. However, instead of using one iPod installed with a variety of music files, he went ahead to buy different ones for different moods or occasions. Such an aspect makes Baby as a customer who attaches emotions to every product that he utilizes. Even the type of mix-tapes he made for his new iPods demonstrated Baby and his various moods.
Moreover, Baby engages the automotive escapades and his music consumption into a symbiotic relationship. Notably, the music pulsing in his ears seems to influence every gearshift and hairpin turns. Baby’s situation has compelled him to get addicted to music that defines most parts of his life. Baby seems to listen to a wide variety of music genres ranging from rock to hip-hop music. In addition, he added value to the music by coming up with unique mix-tapes that rhymed well with most of the scenes in the movie. Sometimes, he had to stop and re-synchronize the music, especially when things got off the tempo.
The second important character in the movie involves Doc who has a high affinity for money, would sacrifice resources to get more money. As depicted in the movie, Doc acted as Baby’s boss and still wanted to control him to take part in the organized crime. In this case, having made an earlier mistake of boosting Doc’s car, Baby seemed obliged to work for his former boss until he repaid the debt in full. Doc does not appear as a loyal customer because he rarely sticks to the same crew for consecutive robbery missions.
As a customer, Doc knows everything that he wants and plans for them regardless of what other people undergo as part of the plan. Most of the situations experienced by the criminals appeared as Doc’s masterminds. He seemed to know every danger his crew would experience while executing his plans. Such a customer would send another person to get a particular item and still get it regardless of the experiences faced by the other party. The character Doc uses the past mistakes to indebt Baby and influences him into joining his gang crew to get more money and other items.
Furthermore, Eiza’s character resonates well with customers who buy products that they should not have as per the overall opinion of the society.
In the case of Eiza, his young girlfriend made him make terrible decisions in his life to match the youthful experience. Hamm describes Eiza as an individual who seems too old to have tattoos on his body. He also seemed too old to appear in such a dress code as demonstrated in the movie. Many customers may buy some products that will seem wasted in their lives due to the prevailing social orders.
Interestingly, just like Eizas, customers make bad choices when it comes to selecting and using certain products. Eizas made such a bad decision by associating himself with Doc, a mastermind of several crimes in the movie. Most people buy into ideas due to the influence they get from their close associates the same way Eizas engaged in crime due to his engagement with Doc. The easy-going customers may most likely but into any idea and transactions that definably affect them without their realization.

Concepts
The study of consumers helps business organizations understand and come up with appropriate strategies to meet the diverse needs of the customers (Khosrow-Pour and MyiLibrary, 2009). Family, culture, signs, and environment greatly influence the way customers respond to the marketing strategies of companies and their consumption of particular products in the market. Some of the considerable consumer behavior concepts as depicted in the movie include culture and subculture, families and family decision-making, information search, segmentation, and attitudes among others. Many aspects influenced the way both Baby and Doc made their decision and responded to different environmental conditions the same way the customers would respond to market conditions.
Families and family decision-making represent the key concept that explains the way the characters behave as customers in the movie.
Particularly, Baby makes many decisions based on the perception of his family and the boss too. Indeed, without the intervention of his family, Baby would not have relied on iPods as the best solution to counter the effects of tinnitus. The support of his family enabled Baby to move on with life and adapt to his situation by creating mix-tapes that enhance rhythm in the movie. Therefore, family decisions play a great role in influencing what people would like to buy. Baby’s family supported him while he underwent serious challenges after the accident during his childhood. The family members have always responded to his needs and even encouraged him to listen to a lot of music as the best way to cope with
tinnitus.
According to Mowen (2000), culture and subculture have a special way of affecting the way customers respond to particular products in the market. In the movie Baby Driver, most of the scenes depict the Western culture, particularly as experienced in the American society. The urban culture makes the characters to associate themselves with automobiles and organized crimes in large organizations. A lot of cities and towns in many parts of the world experience a high rate of crime including the ones shown in the movie (Wright, 2016). Most customers prefer taking their meat at their favorite food joints rather than cooking at their homes. As depicted in the movie, Baby seemed accustomed to the urban and city-life items like mix-tapes and iPods that characterized his life as a customer. Most of the people leaving in urban centers like buying the latest electronic gadgets to suit their emotions the same way Baby used to have different iPods for different moods.
Information search represents another consumer concept that characterizes how customers make decisions regarding certain products in the market (Khosrow-Pour and MyiLibrary, 2009). Doc’s ability to understand how the major corporations operate enables him to take advantage of the existing loopholes to execute his crime. Information search represents a key component in helping customers understand what they want in a given shopping environment. For instance, by understating the market prices of certain products, customers may budget themselves and know their spending limits without undergoing exploitation of inflated prices. Customers need to know how the produces make their products and what quantities they offer at particular prices in the market. Doc mentioned the exact places where Baby would pick up the other criminals. From here, they could execute their plans. Customers also need to know the location of companies, so they can shelve their products in the market to be most successful.
