Elementary Education Research Paper
There is a large variety of reasons I decided to go into elementary education. However, my enjoyment working with children and my want to help others were at the forefront of my decision. I love the energy and enthusiasm in young students and love to help them learn. Teaching allows me to make a positive impact on the lives of a huge number of students. My own life has been substantially impacted by caring teachers and I want to have that influence on others. I thinking teaching is exactly where I need to be to make the most impact on children. My future classroom goal is to tying my care for students into excellent science teaching. From my experiences and my own skills I have been able to establish a personal philosophy of teaching science based on relationships. …show more content…
My science teaching methodology reflects that belief. It is very important to me to focus on relationship based teaching. I want my students to feel relaxed being themselves. I want them to be comfortable exploring and engaging when learning science. I have found that learning cannot really take place until a student feels safe and cared for. When teaching science there are sensitive subjects and concepts that are challenging to comprehend. Building a strong foundational relationship with my students will help them to feel comfortable and develop a trusting connection with me, allowing more learning to occur. My empathetic nature and desire to help all my students will help me to form these strong and lasting relationships. The students will see the effort I put in for them and will reciprocate that with hard work of their own. Building strong relationships with my students will allow me to maximize the science learning and instruction in my future

In an early years setting, it is essential that a practitioner supports the children’s play, learning and development because this will then enable certain learning goals to be achieved in relation to the early year’s foundation stage framework for development. These learning goals that the practitioner will help to support the children develop will have an overall effect on how they are able to learn and behave later in life. Also, by the practitioner helping to support each child, any disabilities (physical or mental) will be noticed and supported much earlier on in the child’s life which will make things easier for them as they will have a stronger support system put in place.…

I use to think that being a teacher was going to be a short eight hours of teaching and being with children. Having summers off made being a teacher seem a lot more beneficial to. Being a teacher seemed to be the easiest career choice out there for me. After viewing the second grade classroom in Shepherdstown Elementary it is safe to say that I have changed my opinion of teaching. There is unquestionably another side to the world of a teacher that can only be seen inside a classroom. Watching the students made me realize that being a teacher will no doubt carry some difficulties but, it will all pay off in the end. Observing has made me realize that there is more to teaching, the classroom, and what goes on inside.…

Once I realized how far my education would take me a dozen of educational goals came to mind and that list just keeps on growing. My first education goal and probably the only one that will never change is to be the first female on both sides of my family to graduate with their PhD. Let alone to be the first to graduate with honors and possibly end up on the presidents list before graduating with my undergraduate degree. I want to be a teacher for several different reasons. I initially decided teaching was for me when I was in middle school. I had an amazing teacher that helped me through a lot. She made a huge impact on my life, and I knew then that I wanted to be able to do the same for other kids. I later went on to have children of my own, which gave me even more reason to become a teacher. And even with the economy the way it is today, there are actually a lot of opportunities for teaching given the wide variety of jobs a teaching degree can obtain. I also understand the responsibility that comes with teaching and that the job doesn’t end when you leave the classroom. That is why I respect the teaching field as much as I do. I know I still have a long way to go before I get to my teaching career but I feel it will all be worth it when I get there.…
