Pauline Guintoli is a high school student who was born in the exquisite country of France. She comes from the large city of Toulouse, which is often called the “Southern Paris.” as she has often wondered what life would be like outside of her bustling city or away from her demanding boarding school.

Pauline admired the rolling hills of corn and the sugary taste of blueberry pie. Needless say, the girls loved their change of scenery and temporary homes.
After spending a busy weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Guintoli, Elizabeth took the train father in the city to begin her studies at the boarding school. Promptly getting adjusted to living at school, Elizabeth began making friends and vastly improving her French. She loved the challenging classes and strict structure of the school. She spent most weekends with Mr. and Mrs. Guintoli exploring the vast city of Toulouse.
Pauline immediately adored the Qualls family. She went from zero to five siblings and three pets and they all lovingly welcomed her to the family with open arms. She cherished spending as much time as possible with her host siblings, learning about life in the country. Although school was still challenging, it was much more relaxed compared to boarding school in France. It was a lovely change she rather enjoyed. Elizabeth: “Oh wow! I’ve been eating a ton of fresh raspberry jam, I can’t get enough of it!”
Pauline: “Mmmm I love jam!”
Elizabeth was having a spectacular time in France, soaking in every lovely bit of the city. Everything was so different compared to her home in America. Boarding school was much more advance and challenging, some days classes lasted up to nine hours plus homework. But once the weekend finally came, it was spend relaxing with Mr. and Mrs. Guintoli. But it began to feel rather lonely without her large family and pets to keep her company.
Pauline was having an amazing time in Kentucky. She learned how to square dance, bake fresh blueberry pie, and how to drive a four-wheeler. Although school in America was still challenging, she got much more time to relax than she was used to. Her days were filled with watching sports events or hanging around the cozy bonfire. She loved her host family, but she definitely missed the quietness of her home in France. Once again, the girls corresponded and shared their experiences.
