A lot of people started to notice that Elvis has a great voice to sing. When he was 10 years old, he sang in public for the first time. This is when he got his very own first guitar. He loved it so much that he would take it everywhere he went including school. Elvis really never got any type of guitar or singing lessons and never knew how to read music. He learned by listening to the notes people would play and by watching the way they would move their fingers.

Not long after that Elvis, Bill and Scotty started to travel around the Midwest to perform concerts. Elvis then signs a record label with RCA records in 1955. This album, that he titled Elvis Presley, was number one along with his song "Heartbreak Hotel". Presley was on many television shows including 'Milton Berle Show' and 'The Ed Sullivan Show'. Elvis was one of the biggest stars in the music industry.
Presley had unique performance all on his own and a unique style of music. His music was a combination of gospel and country music. He danced around on stage while shaking his hips. Many of adults were surprised and shocked by the way he would dance and sing. When Elvis was on television it was asked that he would not dance or be filmed from the waist up because of the way he danced
