Embarrassing Love Story

Sarah was in her fourth year of college and about to graduate. She felt very accomplished as the graduation came closer. As she was signing up for her cap and gown, she dropped her pencil. She reached for the pencil and noticed someone reaching for that same pencil. As she looked up to see who was helping her, she almost fainted. She whispered "pinch me" and turned as red as a lobster. The young man said "Excuse me? Well, you dropped your pencil." It was Dreamy Steven. As he was about to turn around, he added: “Hey, you're Sarah, right?" Sarah was speechless. After a moment of silence, he said: “I meant to ask you to dinner freshman year, but never got to it. The offer is still open, if you are willing to take it." She finally opened her mouth to respond to his request. As she smiled, his face shifted in a weird manner. He then said: "On second thought, my girlfriend wouldn’t like that" and he walked away. Sarah was devastated and ran to a bathroom to hide from the embarrassment of being turned down by Dreamy Steven. She decided to shrug it off. As she was about to leave the bathroom, she decided to re-touch her make-up. She applied the lip-gloss and smiled in the mirror. She was horrified! Her smile showed a piece of lettuce in between her two front teeth from her lunch earlier that day. As she stepped out of the bathroom she was surprised to see that Dreamy Steven was outside waiting for her. Then he said: “I’m sorry I was trying to funny, but I guess I came off more cruel than funny. This is why I want to make it up to you.
