Emergent literacy is defined as a way to explain what the children should know about reading and writing before they are able to read and write.
In My classroom, Emergent literacy would look like a rich environment where children would engage in a variety of reading and writing activities that would facilitate language and literacy opportunities in a daily routine. The children would have access to different centers such as reading center, writing center, art center, and computer center where they can find appropriate hands-on activities that promote emergent literacy.
