Marshall Bruce Mather III better known as Eminem has written many rap songs using different rapping styles and subject matters. In the year 2010 he released the rap song called “Not Afraid”. The message Eminem expresses in “Not Afraid” is his struggles with drugs and his fears. According to an interview done by NME with Eminem, he said, “At a certain point in my life I heavily overdosed on methane. The doctors notified me that I was nearly two hours from passing away.” By writing this song he notifies his fans that he is a changed man and his addictions to drugs has improved. He now asks his followers to overcome the same addictions with him. Some haters believe Eminem is a bad man because of his addiction to drugs and the choice of words his uses to express himself in the songs he writes. Eminem might have a tainted reputation but tries to persuade other people struggling with narcotics to make a change in their life in the song “Not Afraid”.
