The organisation that I have chosen to assess on is Thorpe Park. I have chosen Thorpe Park as it is the UK’s most leading theme parks for thrill seekers, with over 15 thrill rides and rollercoasters alone, offering speeds, drops and loops as well as a calendar of exciting events and it needs to keep on top of the recruitment in either for the organisation to work efficiently.
Thorpe Park, is located in Surrey, England, and was open in 1979. It was originally designed to be a water park; however from the mid-1980s the owners changed their business strategies and decided to compete in the leisure industry as a Theme Park. An example of this is the change of rides: from the ‘Model World’ of the 80s to the new ‘Nemesis inferno’. Thorpe Park is currently one of the largest Theme Parks in Europe and possibly the best in the country. It operates in a massive 500 acre plot and on a good day, can make a profit turnover of nearly £500,000. Thorpe Park has grown considerably over the last 15 years, and is a clear result of the amount of capital investment that has been injected into the park. But however at the moment, Thorpe Park is part of a privet limited company, which means it is not totally liable for any debts. However, it is possible that they may change and go public next year.
