ABSTRACT
Employee’s motivation is an essential variable in our rapid changing workplace because motivation is prove to help in increasing the commitment, productivity, effectiveness and efficiency of the employee. To be effective, manager need to understand what motivates within the context of the roles they perform.
This research attempts to investigate the factors that determine employees’ motivation in the organizational change in the Electronics Manufacturing Service (EMS) Company in Penang. The scope of the research on the factors was covered leadership style, communication approach employee perceptions and employee motivation in the change management
The purpose of the study is to understand whether these factors are significantly affected employee motivation in EMS Company Penang. Based on the Literature Review, theoretical framework was done. The dependent variable was employees’ motivation, while the independent variables were organizational change, leadership style, communication approach, employees’ perception and employees’ satisfaction. With the finding and results analysis in this research, it can act as guide and help the organization for subsequent improvement and develop more effective strategies to retaining the employee motivation during the organizational change.
The population of the research was manufacturing shift manager and operators from EMS Company in Penang. The methodology adopted in this research was using a combination of Conversational / Semi –structure interviews with 4 shift managers and sampling method was used to distribute 200 survey questionnaires to respondents in the EMS Company and total of 161 responses had collected.
