On a global scale, the world is facing the problem of overeating. The overconsumption of products leads to overweight and obesity epidemics that have as a consequence numerous chronic diseases. This issue has a tendency to to be challenging in being controlled, as it constitutes a multifactorial issue and a range of aspects contribute to its existence. However, these epidemics are principally diet induced and are attributed in overconsumption of industrial high energy products and in technology improvements as well as in the low physical activity.

In the Figure 1 of the APPENDIX, it is illustrated a theory that is trying to explain the reason of the onset of obesity in United States, and it is known as “Energy balance flipping point”. The theory behind “Energy Balance Flipping Point” is that at first population became more physically inactive as a result of technological development in the start of 20th century. As a result, it followed a decrease in the energy expenditure, as there was a less energy demand. However, the population did not start to be overweight until the period of 1970 decade.
