AUTHORITY

The power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience: he had absolute authority over his subordinates. This is the definition given to us by our standard dictionary. Authority translated in the Greek is “exousia” not to be referred to by the physical coercion or the self-exerting energy exhausting strength. All authority could be characterized as either intrinsic or delegated. Intrinsic authority is dominion one exercises because it is innate in that person. Because HE is GOD and Creator of the universe, GOD has sovereignty and dominion over all. Only the triune GOD who is Omnipotent, the GOD who is Omnipresent, the GOD who is Omniscient has purely intrinsic Authority and power. Delegated authority is given from one who has intrinsic authority to one serving in an office or carrying out a function. Delegate authority is not in itself innately or inherently authoritative, it is authority derived from one whose authority is intrinsic. All… authority belongs to GOD! All authority is derived from HIM. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST and the HOLY SPIRIT has the same intrinsic authority as GOD the FATHER because they are all coequal with GOD. (John 1:1 in the beginning was the word, and the word was with GOD, and the word was GOD, John 10:30 I and MY FATHER are one.) GOD has given JESUS authority over all things in heaven and earth. Matthew 28:18 And JESUS came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto ME in heaven and in earth. Here the Bible tells us about the great commission which the LORD JESUS received HIMSELF from the FATHER. CHRIST now is about to send HIS disciples out into the world as HIS Ambassador’s. So HE is about to give them their cridentials. So if any should asked by what authority HE doeth it, and who gave HIM that

    c. Paul was concerned that the believers in Thessalonica thought that his earlier visit was a waste of time. During his previous visit, Paul experienced the division between the Greeks who easily accepted Christ, and the Jews. The Providence Debate

    • 2225 Words

When one defines God’s providence it is referring to the way God governs the world. Does God really sit on His throne and dictate or rule the world? It is not surprising that there is some disagreement in the evangelical world concerning the control of God, His dealing with salvation especially as affected by Jesus and the freewill of mankind. Some theologians think that the three are in contradictory of each other. Are they really in conflict with each other’s or can all three exist in full scriptural belief without doing any injustice to the other two?…

    Patrol Officers

Patrol Officers are not assigned a case to try and solve. In most major cities police departments have enough personal to cover every aspect of a crime, however, the role of the patrol officer during investigations has increased. On page 23, in the book, under the patrol officer as an investigator, it mentions that the role of the patrol officer has been limited, however, as time continues that same role seem to increase. The role of the patrol officer has taken over some of the same responsibilities as the investigators have. Such as providing immediate assistance to victims, locates witness, and interviews both victims and witnesses. Also, the patrol officer has the authority to initiate and complete investigations of certain classifications of crime. With all of the changes to the role of the patrol officer, there have been numerous benefits that have been noticed, such as, the cases are handled expeditiously, relations within the department have improved, morale problems have decreased, and an increase in the investigator productivity because they have more time to focus on high profile cases. The benefit that really stands out to me is the fact that the investigator can really focus on his case loads, because he is not overwhelmed, which results in a benefit to the community as well as the entire department. The last thing a police department wants to do is give enough time for the same crime to happen again, causing the community to really question if the police can protect them. With crimes being solved a quick basis, it sends a message, if you want to do the crime, you will get caught and put in jail.…
