English 52 Essay
This spring semester I am taking English 52 online, with Professor Shah. Typically, on the first day of school, professors hand out this item called a syllabus. Since this is an online course, Professor Shah posted a syllabus on the website called Canvas. A syllabus is just an outline of the course at hand. A syllabus typically, has the course description, course objectives, professor’s information, required materials needed for the course, etc. A syllabus is a contract between the professor and the student.
English 52 description, is to help students with their reading and writing skills for English 100. Students are expected to be able to not only read professional essays but, respond to them in journals. Not only that but, they also have to think critically, write coherent expository essays with strong thesis statements, give and receive feedback, etc. Students will engage in all stages of the writing process. Since this is an online class, being self-sufficient is a must. Professor shah is available during office hour (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 10-11am) and email if students have questions. For example, there is a mandatory online orientation. This orientation has to be done by 11:59p.m. on Thursday, January12. If not completed, student will be dropped from the course. There are a couple of material requirements too. The Books called “Always Running” and “English 52” is critical for this course. Also an email account and Microsoft word is also a must. Attendance is an extremely big part of this class, even though we don’t meet in a classroom. Failure to turning in a module will result in an absence. After the fifth absence the student will be dropped. Furthermore, all work should be submitted on time. No late work will be accepted under any
