English 9B Research Paper Instructions Part 2 1
English 9B- Research Paper Instructions- Part 2
By now you have chosen a topic for your research paper, have created a research proposal, have done research on your topic, and have completed the Synthesis Chart and the Source Chart. Now is the time to put all of this information together, organize your facts, create a final draft of your research paper, and then self-assess your work.

Unit 2 Lessons 8-10- Organizing & Integrating Ideas
In these lessons, you will organize all of the information you gathered from your sources and will integrate this information with your own original ideas. You will use your completed Synthesis Chart and your source material during these lessons, and you will complete a DETAILED outline for your research paper. You will submit this outline in place of the rough draft assignment in Unit 2 Lesson 11.

Unit 2 Lesson 11- Research Paper Outline
In this lesson, you will complete a DETAILED outline for your research paper. You do NOT have to complete a full rough draft of your research paper as it says in your lessons. Please use the fill-in-the-blank outline to complete this assignment. The outline is posted on the Message Board under Portfolio Information> Unit 2 Research Paper> Research Paper Outline. You may type directly on this document.
The introduction section of your outline should include an interesting lead in or “hook” to interest readers in your topic. It should also include a complete thesis statement that introduces your topic as well as all of the main points you will cover in the body of your paper.
In the body paragraph sections of your outline, you will adapt your research questions into topic sentences for each major section of your research paper. Please do NOT simply copy and paste your research questions. You MUST turn these questions into clear and concise statements. Also, you MUST use information from your sources in the supporting details sections for each body paragraph. An internal citation MUST be included

Start your paper right here. Never have a section called “Introduction.” However, do have an introductory section where you start the essay and set the stage with your thesis and outline of the topics to be presented. A well written essay is similar to a trip. The introduction section is the planning stage where you determine the place, time, and method of travel. You also plan the order of the trip and stages of travel.…

    Term Paper Format

    • 17 Pages

INTRODUCTION The preparation of a research paper -- be it for a class term paper, a professional journal article, a technical report at a job, or a graduate thesis -- may generally be divided into five tasks: (1) identifying the problem or question to be dealt with; (2) collecting data (measured observations and/or bibliographic references) about the problem or question; (3) analyzing the data, either by statistical examination of the observations, or by reading, thinking about and organizing the literature; (4) describing in an organized and clearly understandable fashion what you did and what you found out; (5) putting the results of the research into the required finished format. Often the constraints of the format are rather rigid, requiring a great deal of attention to detail. The plus side of this is that you know exactly what is expected; there is little room for subjective evaluation, and you either get it right or you get it wrong. This write-up describes the rules of the research paper format for this course. A number of the "rules" are really warnings of common errors that students make in preparing papers; a careful reading of these instructions will hopefully keep you from making the same errors. Failure to follow one or more of the instructions in this description will result in a substantial lowering of your grade on the paper.…
