All I could hear was yelling and banging outside. Then all of a sudden “Smash,” the door broke. I could just see my father saying “He’s not here he went for a walk,” the Tabilians just ignored my father and “smash,” they were breaking the shop. In a glimpse of an eye my father pulled one of the soldiers from breaking my mum’s portrait. But the soldier just punched dads face and then open firing into him, filling him lead. I couldn’t move, I watched as he took his last breath, he was dead. The soldiers must have given up the search because they just moved onto the next house. I slowly walked over to him. I cried, what was my mum going to think? I ran home to tell her the bad news, she was shocked and not believing me she ran to the shop. When I reached the shop, she had already had tears in her eyes. She angrily said “Pack your bags we’re, going to Australia to live,” I thought this sounded like a holiday except you stay there permanently so I rushed to get packed, bringing all my valuables.
We left before the sun had come out. At the monument I was in the back of a combie van with ten others having the same dream. We hid under blankets and tyres when we were instructed to by the driver. I asked mum why we were hiding she said if we get caught by border guards they will send me to the army and we will be tortured. After hearing this how terrible it sounded and hid every time the driver stopped, I would literally stop breathing and I wouldn’t even move a muscle. The ride was really bumpy making it really uncomfortable and boring. I was really grateful that I brought a book otherwise it would have been ten times worse. Even though the trip only took three days. The book I brought was on Australia, it said that it has hot deserts and beautiful animals. I hope Australia doesn’t force you into the army because I hate killing people. All of a sudden the van doors burst open full of border guards. I stopped like a scared rabbit. I
