simply because I like to ramble on about the same topics, especially if it is something that I am passionate about. Another strength of mine is my ability to comprehend literature. I remember reading poetry in 7th and 8th grade and understanding what I was reading almost immediately. I think the reason for this is because I love to read so much which makes it so that I’ve had a lot more practice at comprehending things. All of the reading that I do has not only increased my comprehension level, but it has also improved my vocabulary. I wouldn’t say that my vocabulary exceeds the standards, but I think that it is okay. Even with all my strengths, I am far from a perfect english student.
I have to admit that english can become a challenge for me sometimes. I am always trying to push myself though. I have done good in english before, and I think that I can do good in english in the future. I just have to work harder than what I would in math for example. I can get caught up in the work that english requires sometimes. The assignments are very different from other classes and it is not something that I can just complete in 30 minutes. With all the work, sometimes I can procrastinate because it seems like a lot. Once I start on my assignments, I find that they aren’t as bad as they seem to be. I also think that I need to improve my grammar and participation. Participation is a problem for me in all my classes, but in the past english has always had the most discussions and assignments that require me to participate more. I am going to try to participate more in class next year, which will hopefully benefit me in all my classes, but I’d like to start with english first. Grammar isn’t really a huge problem for me, all I need to do is just practice a little more. I am hoping that I can overcome these weaknesses in the future, preferably next year in class, and improve my english skills
overall.
